Tembo majini “elephants in the water”

I was lucky enough to observe a small herd of elephants from the terrace of the Phumelo lodge.
What a magnificent moment, what serenity, what a privilege to witness their movements, their moment of rest.
This scene made me relive that unforgettable moment

Tembo majini, which means “elephants in the water” in Swahili.
A painting on black leather, sculpted using the Carving technique, sometimes called repoussé.
It is then painted with special leather paint.
The frame is made from elephant leather, which belongs to the client, who harvested it in accordance with the Washington Convention.
